1. Japanese Takoyaki

Ingredients

Batter

  • 100g cake flour
  • 20g cornstarch
  • 400ml dashi stock
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • A pinch of salt

Filling & Toppings

  • Cooked octopus, diced
  • Cabbage, finely chopped
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Green onion, chopped
  • Takoyaki sauce
  • Japanese mayonnaise
  • Dried bonito flakes
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the cake flour, cornstarch, dashi stock, baking powder, egg, and salt. Mix until smooth and set aside.
  2. Install the Takoyaki Plate and select the Takoyaki programme. The cooker will automatically set the temperature and cooking time.
  3. Once the cooker beeps, lightly brush each mould with cooking oil.
  4. Fill each mould with batter.
  5. Add the octopus, cabbage, onion, and green onion.
  6. Pour a little more batter over the fillings.
  7. Once the bottom begins to cook, use skewers or chopsticks to gently turn each piece into a ball. Brush with a little oil if needed.
  8. Continue cooking until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Serve with takoyaki sauce, Japanese mayonnaise, and a generous sprinkle of dried bonito flakes.

2. Korean Sweet Chili Chicken

Ingredients

  • ½ chicken, cut into serving pieces
  • 2 tbsp curry powder
  • 2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp garlic powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 40g Korean sweet chili sauce
  • White sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with the curry powder, turmeric powder, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for 3–4 hours or overnight.
  2. Install the Grill Plate and select the BBQ programme.
  3. Grill the chicken until fully cooked and nicely browned.
  4. Transfer the cooked chicken to a bowl and pour in the Korean sweet chili sauce.
  5. Toss until every piece is evenly coated.
  6. Garnish with white sesame seeds before serving.

3. Bakso Suhun (Indonesian Meatball Glass Noodle Soup)

Ingredients

  • Bakso (Indonesian beef meatballs)
  • Suhun (glass noodles)
  • Water
  • Tumis bahan tumbuk:
    • Shallots
    • Garlic
    • Ginger
    • A small amount of nutmeg
  • Masako seasoning
  • White pepper powder
  • Salt
  • Spring onion, chopped
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

  1. Select the Stir Fry programme.
  2. Add a little cooking oil and sauté the blended shallots, garlic, ginger, and nutmeg until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the water.
  4. Switch to Hot Pot mode.
  5. Add the bakso, Masako seasoning, white pepper powder, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Add the glass noodles and cook until softened.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped spring onions before serving.
